A Stainless Steel 316 Leaf Filter is used to filter detergents supplied worldwide. These 60 inch filters can filter down to a nominal rating of 80micron with their mesh size of 24/110. A larger support mesh also sits within the filter giving additional strength.
Filters often lose their filtering effectiveness after a certain amount of time due to contaminant built-ups. Instead of replacing the whole filters, Croft offers the solution for changing filter media to restore the filtering effects, which allow the customers to reuse their existing filters.

The first step of the process is to remove waste from the screen in a safe and hygienic manner; this depends on the waste itself but in many cases Croft is able to remove the waste in-house. Once clean of most of the waste the Leaf Filters are stripped and the mesh removed.
Once the Leaf Filters are disassembled the bearings and seals are cleaned manually, damaged parts are replaced so long as the Customer agrees. Any damaged threads can be fixed to ensure the filter performs to the required standards that it did when it was new.
New meshes are then measured, cut and spot welded to the clean frame, ensuring that the mesh sits evenly across the frame. The Leaf Filters are then passed through to quality inspection and packaged per the customers’ requirements. The turnaround for a small batch can be as quick as 2 weeks.
Croft has refurbished over 100 of these Leaf Filters for one Customer alone, other Customers have also benefitted from the service and continue to in order to make the most of their filtration frames. Not only does this help the customer to save on filtration cost, this also helps to reduce waste to landfills, a positive contribution to the environment.
If re-meshing is not an option, Croft can also manufacture custom filtration solutions in any shape or design, including basket strainers, duplex filters, vacuum filters, cone filters, cylinder filters and screen filters in perforated plate, wedge wire and woven wire mesh. Quality of both product and service has been the key to Crofts success; the Company takes great pride in understanding their customers’ needs, quickly supplying them with a high quality product that exceeds Customers expectations.
