Reverse Engineering Solutions
At Croft, we offer reverse engineering, as customers often come to us looking for a product that is no longer available due to discontinuation. This capability allows us to understand its design and functionality to create a similar or enhanced version of the product.
Cone Filters
Cone filters are used to separate particles and protect vital machinery within an operational system. At Croft, we manufacture each filter to meet the exact specifications of your system, taking into account factors such as flow rate and pressure. Typically, each cone filter is custom-made from punched plate, supporting one or more layers of wire mesh. Manufacturing with custom punched plate, along with a range of different mesh weaves enables more control over the open area of our filters. This helps decrease pressure drop when using our filters within the system.
Perforated Disc Filters
Disc filters are used in a range of different process systems, including both Croft’s Inline Filters and Quick-release Filters. They are typically used with the direct flows of an operating system and are frequently fitted directly into the pipework with the aid of suitable housing.
Utilising our in-house capabilities, discs can be manufactured from custom perforated sheet metal, wire mesh, or a combination of the two to achieve the desired micron filtration, with Standard disc filtration ranges from 40 microns to 4 mm. Additionally, disc filters can also be manufactured using Additive Manufacturing technology.
Leaf filters
Leaf filters are used to ensure a steady flow of liquids through a system while preventing solids and impurities from passing through to the next stage of production. This is typically achieved by using a collection of leaf filters or a vertical leaf housing for a range of continuous and batch filtration processes. A smaller micron rating or increased flow rate is achieved by the retention of solids on the filter cake. Leaf filters are constructed from a filter frame covered on both sides with a layer of wire mesh.

Compressed Mesh Elements
Based in the wire production town of Warrington, Croft Filters has extensive knowledge and understanding of knitted wire mesh. Knitted mesh is crafted from interlocking metal wire loops, giving it unique flexibility and fine filtration capabilities. These elements can be manufactured in a variety of shapes to suit your application. When compressed, the mesh provides fine filtration with high density and surface area. Thanks to these unique characteristics, filters made from this material can withstand thermal shock and vibration.
Bespoke Candle Filters
These filters are used across various industries and are an essential component in liquid processing. We manufacture them to meet your precise specifications, ensuring high-quality filtration. Our candle filters are custom-manufactured from 10 microns upwards, with each design being unique. Candle filter elements are made from stainless steel wire mesh, wedge wire, or perforated plate, depending on the required level of filtration.
Pleated Filters
These filters are frequently used when customers face the issue of limited space within their system. The increased surface area created by pleating the filter aids flow rate and reduces the need for frequent cleaning. Pleated filters are custom-manufactured from perforated plate and wire mesh to meet each customer’s unique specifications, with our in-house capabilities allowing us to produce pleated filters in a variety of shapes.
